The Challenge

Our brief was to support Leicester City Council’s Emergency Planning and Event teams with a 24/7 ECR Manager log platform which can be used in their multi-agency control room, remotely by on call personnel and within council departments (on and off site).

During the Leicester City Football Club (LCFC) Helicopter crash Controlled Events anticipated and supported the Emergency Planning team in coordinating information management and multi-agency response during the response and recovery.

The Solution

We provide LCC with regular training, exercises and log support. The strength of our support has been proven by incidents. Anticipation is all and minutes count at the outset of an incident. Having had extensive experience in Emergency Planning we recognised the significance of the Council’s role in the helicopter crash. We helped to establish initial information management arrangements ready for responders as they mobilised out of hours support and continued to provide proactive (out of contract) support to assist responders as the helicopter crash, investigation, memorial activity and recovery were managed under Council coordination.

The Results

During the Leicester City Football Club helicopter crash Controlled Events anticipated and supported the Emergency Planning team in coordinating information management and multi-agency response. In addition, the ECR Manager platform is used routinely on events, incidents and other deployments.
