The Challenge

Limelight Sports required a mix of services for each of their events, with some or all of the following services: Event Control management software, readiness Exercises, Event Control management resource and planning. Events included Regatta London, Royal Parks Half Marathon and Blenheim Palace Triathlon to date.

The Solution

Controlled Events prepared scenarios with input from partners and delivered multi-agency exercises for several of the events. ECR Manager was utilised to capture key decisions and to share situational awareness within the Control Room team. The feedback has led to planning for support on a greater number of events in 2021.

The Results

Challenging weather and protest risk coupled with COVID-19 on events in 2019-20 meant that maintaining a robust audit trail was key. The success of the Control Room support was a high point in the relationship in 2020 with users commenting on the ease with which they could adopt or re-familiarise with the system. The positive response to our event and exercise services has led to further event support requirements for 2021.
